How well is the blog word understood?

When you're involved in the blogging world "day in day out", it's easy to assume that individuals that you speak to, will understand words like, blogging, blog, micro blogging, blogger, however, that’s not always the case!
In my day job, I do a lot of work with small businesses and blogging is invariably discussed, well I bring the subject up! However, I'm still surprised that there are many business people in the U.K, that still have no understanding of the term blog or blogging.
Therefore, it's encouraging when I hear the blog word used in the media and it's videos like this one from Twix (which I came across on Bloggers Blog), which can only help to educate, and get people talking about blogging.
Though I don’t think it’s been produced with U.K market in mind.
